Name a Puppy Fundraiser!
Here is a whole new group of nameless puppies, just waiting for your help.
For a donation of $40, you can name a puppy with a name that begins with the letter S. Examples: Sesame Street, Sarsaparilla or Supercalifragilisticexpialodocious. We know you will do better!
Your donation will help to supplement what the rescue provides mom and puppies, going toward de-worming, shots and eventual spay and neuters, plus any extras they need along the way.
Plus, we love when you name the puppies!
There are 7, so get your name in now. They are all ready for the red carpet tomorrow night, let's see if these little stars will have their names by then.

10 Tips When Meeting a Stray Dog

Hetts says there 10 tips that everyone should remember when meeting a strange dog:
1. Let the dog come to you - don't reach for the dog
2. Keep your hands near your side
3. Avoid eye contact
4. Avoid facing the dog - turn the side of your body to the dog
5. Stand up straight or sit on the floor - don't lean over the dog
6. Keep your face away from the dog's face
7. No hugging or kissing unless you know the dog very well
8. Pet the dog under the chin
9. Limit speaking to the dog
10. Always watch the dog's body language
Hetts says dogs that feel threatened will show many signs through their body language including baring their teeth and growling, avoiding eye contact or staring someone down, flattening their ears against their head, wagging their tail slowly or leaning more on their front legs. She says rapid changes in body language indicate that the animal is more uncertain and therefore can be more unpredictable.

Our Special Valentines In Need
We have expanded the dogs who will be helped by your Chip In contributions!
The 3 Parvo girls are recovering, we are happy to report. If you think about the cost of vaccination per puppy, let's go with a total of $80 for the series, just to make the math easier, and the cost of treatment, $800 per puppy, PLUS the physical cost to their health, again, we have to support the idea of prevention!

And we have Franklin, who is getting extra special care due to effects of starvation - very scary blood work, open sore on his face, and emaciated, he is a very sweet boy.

Parvo Girls Update
1. We have a donation from www.collarmeup.com of 3 gift certificates for collars! Everyone who donates will be entered for a chance to win! Thank you to Collar Me Up. They are beautiful collars.
